AYPAL’s programs are ethnic studies based and are made up of youth interns and general members. Programs happen weekly in Chinatown.


SEAYCA

Southeast Asian Youth Community in Action

Youth leadership site centering Southeast Asian American history, culture, identity, and issues- particularly refugee communities from Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam who were affected by the wars in Southeast Asia in the ‘70s and have resettled in Oakland.

VOYCE

Voices of Oakland Youth for Community Empowerment

Youth leadership site diving into social justice topics, identity, and arts activism. Interns support with workshop and training facilitation, presentations, event planning, flyer creation, and outreach. This site makes space to highlight the identities of youth who are Filipinx, East Asian, and pan-Asian.
